As a former resident of one of the more than 30 states that require a front license plate, I am astounded by the lack of the front plate in Florida.

I have seen many instances on TV when the front of a car involved in a crime is shown clearly on camera. The car and driver could easily be identified in these instances with a front license plate. The cost of a front license plate can be passed to the drivers through a fee, covering the minimal production costs.

Having two plates also makes it easier to locate stolen cars. This is especially true with police departments that use license plate reader systems. I hear no one ever mention this and think with the rising crime rate, it is a simple addition and just one more tool for law enforcement.
