If its’s a party that you are looking for, look no further. As one of the few clubs available to teenagers, Club Boca accommodates teens who would otherwise be excluded because of age restrictions.

Club Boca (7000 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton) has proved successful as a popular adult night club, and is now twice as hot.

On June 23, they kicked off their under-21 teen night featuring the Cover Girls. It was wild. Still going strong, the party now held on Wednesday nights is only getting wilder.

Starting when doors open at 10 p.m. teenagers dance to bass, hip hop, techno- house, and reggae music. DJ Crazy Chris spins it nonstop until closing at 2 a.m., while M.C. Jet Roc hosts the “often imitated, but never duplicated” Booty Contest.

“It’s very interesting. I mean very interesting,” said Western junior Tracy Holman.

Club Boca has its price though, the cover charge runs on the high side.

“Club covers are between seven and twelve dollars. We’re the most expensive at twelve dollars, but we’re the best,” said club manager Greg Sage.

Flyers advertised locally reduce the cover to ten dollars when presented at the door. This is about average compared with other teen clubs’ covers, such as Crocco’s in Fort Lauderdale.

Soda bars serve frozen drinks, soda and mineral and tap water. Drink before you come, though, because the tap water sells at one dollar per cup.

Sage, who worked previously with Club 911 and Heaven Night Club, has his concept of what is needed for a club to be successful with teenagers.

“Club Boca is a place where kids can have fun: dance the way they want to dance, dress the way they want to dress, act the way they want to act in a safe environment,” said Sage.

Those between the ages of fourteen and twenty are welcome to this high- energy dance club, but I recommend you come loose and ready for the unexpected. Adorned by murals and lighted by a spectrum of colors including black and floor lights, Club Boca is anything but passive. Jam on the sizable dance floor while watching videos on the multiple television screens.

“You never know what can happen,” said Sage. “Clubs like Crocco’s and the Bay Club didn’t do well for long with teen nights, but we’re attracting a good crowd and our numbers aren’t getting lower.”
