Safes and secret caches aren't difficult to find with a little exploration and their codes to open are usually nearby. The safe Ellie encounters at the Auto Repair shop is one such example.

Players will find this safe just after their first brush with the Washington Liberation Front. Ellie will enter a small town, seemingly deserted, but hiding a few infected enemies here and there. The Auto Repair garage is toward the back left behind the tattoo parlor.

A dumpster is blocking the door to keep a group of infected inside, so be cautious when moving it aside for entry. The safe, itself, is located on the right. The code might take some extra searching.

There's a pet store right across the "street" that connects to the next door bar via a hole in the wall. take care of the few enemies there and make your way to the bar kitchen where you'll find a scrap of paper hanging on the wall by the door.
