Stalkers are one type of infected enemy you'll encounter in The Last of Us Part 2 (TLOU2).
Naughty Dog put a lot of focus on hostile NPCs in their series sequel, TLOU2. From giving each one a name and heartbeat to showing just how aggressive the infection can get, the developers have clearly made a world that's equally fascinating and challenging to survive in. Stalkers, Clickers, and Runners are just the beginning of what awaits Ellie beyond the towns.
Here are some tips for spotting and taking down Stalkers.

Stalkers The Last of Us 2 Tips
Stalkers are an advanced stage of infection — beyond that of Runners. Some players report they appear to be more intelligent and are more likely to be organized in their attacks. It's common to be ambushed by more than one Stalker at a time.
Additionally, Stalkers can be much more difficult to hear in Listen Mode. They tend to hide behind corners or other similar covers to wait for the best moment to strike. This is probably where their name comes from.
One way to make them reveal themselves is to make noise, yourself. Throwing bricks or breaking bottles will alert them and cause them to show where they're hiding.
Unlike Clickers who sport a one-hit kill, Stalkers can be attacked using a variety of weapons—including melee. It should be noted that they like to attack you from difficult angles so minimizing your own openings and leaving Trap Mines is recommended.
Stalkers may run off once they've attacked you a few times to no avail. Don't be fooled—the only good Stalker is a dead one.
