Sant Ambroeus Palm Beach
340 Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach, 561-285-7990, SantAmbroeus.com
This Italian chain has unveiled its first location outside of New York in the former Del Frisco’s Grille in the Royal Poinciana Plaza.
“As a Palm Beach Country resident, I know the local community and culinary culture of the island resonate with the Milanese hospitality and cuisine of Sant Ambroeus,” co-owner Dimitri Pauli says. “Not to mention, some of our most loyal clients in New York City and Southampton spend a significant amount of time in Palm Beach.”
Signatures include king crab carpaccio ($31), slow-roasted sliced veal with tuna-caper sauce ($21), bolognese fettuccine ($26), spaghetti carbonara ($23) and branzino with tomato-caper sauce ($45).
A display case entices with temptations such as millefoglie and Key lime tart (both $12).
Winter cocktails ($16) are the Pera with gin, pear syrup and egg white, and the Castagno with rum, chestnut puree, maple syrup and apple cider.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily amid an ambiance inspired by Italy’s Gran Caffés of the 1950s, with a coffee bar and gelateria, rippled mahogany, Italian marble, wavy terrazzo floor and glass-leaf chandeliers from Venice. The café area’s pink wallpaper features Sant Ambroeus’s print. Courtyard seating is due by mid-February.
