A Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy was shot at by an unknown assailant in Pahokee Friday night, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The deputy survived uninjured, but his vehicle was struck.
The shooting took place a little after 9 p.m. Friday night in the 1400 block of Joe Louis Avenue, Teri Barbera, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, said in a media release. An unknown suspect shot at the deputy’s marked patrol car, damaging it.
The deputy was “targeted” by the assailant, but “escaped unharmed,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet. “We need your help to bring the perpetrator to justice and ensure the safety of our #PalmBeachCounty community.”
Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers is offering $13,000 for any information on the suspect.
