If you want a break from all the combat and bullet-hell action of Nier Replicant, then there’s no better way to kick back and relax than with a spot of fishing. Not only is this a handy way of making some extra cash, but some side quests also require you to bring back fish. In this guide, we’ll talk you through how and where to catch all fish in Nier Replicant, as well as how the mini-game actually works.
How to Go Fishing in Nier Replicant
First off, you’ll need the fishing rod. This can be obtained from an old man in Seafront and you’ll automatically obtain it as part of Nier Replicant’s main story missions.
After that, you’ll be able to use your fishing rod on certain bodies of water by walking up to them and pressing Circle on PlayStation or B on Xbox.
Brother Nier will then cast his line out into the water and you’ll need to wait to get a bite. When you start to see the rod bend, press Circle/ B again to hook the fish.
You’ll then need to pull the rod in the opposite direction that the fish is moving in order to reduce its HP. To do so, use the left analog stick. Once the fish’s HP reaches zero, you’ll be able to hook it in and catch it.
