There wasn’t a shortage of great dunks in the NBA during the 2010s.

In celebration of the decade coming to a close, the NBA released a list of the top-20 dunks of the 2010s, and four of the dunks were executed by Miami Heat players.

The Heat’s four dunks are tied for the most appearances with the Los Angeles Clippers. Four other teams — the Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder — had multiple appearances on the list.

Here are the four Heat dunks on the NBA’s top 20 dunks of the 2010s list:

No. 5: LeBron James slams it all over Jason Terry — March 2013

LeBron James’ dunk against Jason Terry, who was on the Boston Celtics at the time, was so vicious that his Wikipedia page was changed to say he suffered “death on March 18, 2013. Cause of death was LeBron James.”

Terry, of course, didn’t die because of the dunk, but James didn’t feel any remorse for power slam that he unleashed on the man who contributed to the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals.

“It was one of my better ones,” James said at the time. “And the fact that it happened to J.T. made it even that much sweeter. Because I think we all know what J.T. talks, and he talks too much sometimes and I’m glad it happened to him.”

No. 7: Dwyane Wade spins cycles his way into a poster — March 2011

Dwyane Wade has numerous highlights during his Hall of Fame-caliber career with the Heat.

Towards the top of the list is his dunk over the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kendrick Perkins, which Wade revealed earlier this year was payback for Perkins’ dunk earlier in the season.

No. 9: James jumps over defense for alley-oop — January 2012

It’s one thing to dunk on somebody.

It’s another thing to dunk over someone, like they don’t even exist in your stratosphere.

That’s what James pulled off against the Chicago Bulls when he leaped over John Lucas III to slam home the alley-oop from Wade.

No. 13: Derrick Jones Jr. soars through AmericanAirlines Arena for alley-oop — March 2019

The Heat’s most recent addition to the NBA’s best dunks of the decade came from a pair of players who could provide the team with numerous highlights in the 2020s.

While in transition, Bam Adebayo threw the ball to Derrick Jones Jr., who proved there’s no alley-oop too high for him to grab. Jones’ head was above the rim as he stretched his arm to slam home one of the best dunks of the decade.
