Mengenal Spesialis Kedokteran Okupasi dan Prospek Kerjanya

KOMPAS.com - Salah satu bidang ilmu spesialias yang bisa dipilih mahasiswa Kedokteran adalah Kedokteran Okupasi.
Bagi mahasiswa Kedokteran yang belum mengenal betul Kedokteran Okupasi tak ada salahnya tahu apa saja prospek kerja jika memilih spesialis Kedokteran Okupasi.
Lantas, apa saja bidang pelayanan, kompetensi, dan prospek kerja kedokteran okupasi?
Dokter Izzatul Abadiyah, SpOk, yang merupakan alumnus Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Airlangga (Unair) menerangkan, kedokteran okupasi adalah bidang spesialisasi kedokteran yang memberikan penanganan kesehatan pada pekerja baik secara fisik, mental, maupun sosial.
Upaya tersebut mencakup promotif, preventif, kuratif, hingga rehabilitatif.
"Kedokteran okupasi berkaitan dengan komunitas atau individu pekerja dan lingkungan kerja," kata dr. Izzatul dalam siaran Youtube Dokter Unair TV seperti dikutip dari laman Universitas Airlangga, Senin (17/7/2023).
Dia menjelaskan, fokus Kedokteran Okupasi adalah meningkatkan kesehatan pekerja, melakukan pencegahan penyakit dan kecelakaan akibat kerja, serta mempertahankan agar pekerja dapat tetap produktif.
Alumnus angkatan 2002 Unair ini menyebut, ada 5 kompetensi utama dan 18 kompetensi penunjang bagi dokter spesialis okupasi. Berdasarkan Peraturan Konsil Kedokteran Indonesia Nomor 90 Tahun 2020 tentang Standar Pendidikan Profesi Dokter Spesialis Kedokteran Okupasi, sebagai berikut:
Melakukan penegakan diagnosis penyakit akibat kerja dan tatalaksana penanganannya secara komprehensif.
Menentukan penilaian kelayakan kerja bagi pekerja dengan kondisi medis tertentu akibat sakit atau pasca-kecelakaan.
Mengevaluasi program return to work atau kapan pekerja dapat kembali bekerja dengan aman.
Melakukan penilaian kecacatan dan perhitungan persentase kecacatan akibat penyakit atau kecelakaan kerja.
Surveilans medis terhadap komunitas pekerja seperti medical check up (MCU) yang ditanggung oleh perusahaan berdasarkan pada risiko pekerjaannya.
Menurut dr. Izza, beberapa kompetensi penunjang kedokteran okupasi adalah merancang dan melakukan pemeriksaan kesehatan pekerja (medical check up) secara berkala.
Selain itu juga menyusun rekomendasi program kesehatan kerja yang tepat bagi suatu perusahaan dari hasil analisis surveilans.
Ia menyebut, jumlah dokter spesialis okupasi di Indonesia saat ini hanya 200 orang. Padahal, penduduk usia kerja mencapai 65 persen dari total 277 juta penduduk pada tahun 2023.
Sementara, perkembangan dunia industri yang pesat mendorong kebutuhan akan kedokteran okupasi semakin meningkat.
Dokter okupasi umumnya bekerja di rumah sakit, perusahaan baik negeri atau swasta, dan klinik perusahaan.
"Sekarang hampir semua rumah sakit memiliki dokter spesialis okupasi. Kami ditempatkan di MCU Center, poli okupasi, bahkan terlibat dalam keselamatan dan keselamatan kerja (K3) di rumah sakit," beber dokter yang berpraktik di Rumah Sakit PHC itu.
Dokter Izza berharap adanya peningkatan jumlah dokter spesialis okupasi. Baginya, kedokteran okupasi merupakan ilmu yang menarik sebab memadukan keterampilan medis dan okupasi.
