Mark’s acting career took off when he was hired as Luke Skywalker in George Lucas’ epic space opera Star Wars in 1977. The movie Star Wars. The film was an unexpected success, drawing attention to Mark. Later in his career, he appeared in three Star Wars sequel films: Star Wars Vacation Special (1978), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), and Return of the Jedi (1983). He won the Saturn Award for Best Actor for his performance in the Star Wars trilogy.
He also acted in films such as The Big Red, The Lights Went Out in Georgia That Night, Slipstream, and others in the 1980s. He later appeared in the films Midnight Journey, The Guyver, Village of the Damned, and Hamilton in the 1990s. During these times, Mark appeared on television in both guest and recurring roles. Between 1994 and 1997, he also played the lead (Colonel Christopher Blair) in the Lieutenant Colonel space warfare video game series.
