A resident reported hearing gunfire in North Lauderdale and when Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived they found the body of a man who had been shot dead, officials said.
It happened just before 1 a.m. Friday at the Avana Cypress Creek apartment complex in the 1700 block of South State Road 7, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Veda Coleman-Wright.
It wasn’t immediately known what happened, but detectives are investigating.
The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to call Detective John Curcio at 954-321-4212.
