A 21-year-old man died early Friday after accidentally shooting himself in the Lake Charleston Community west of Lake Worth, according to a Palm Beach sheriff’s news release.
It happened at 4:23 a.m. in the 7400 block of Michigan Isle Road, south of Hypoluxo Road near State Road 441. The man, whose identity hasn’t been released, was found with a fatal gunshot wound, deputies said.
Sun Sentinel news partner WPEC-Ch. 12 reports the shooting happened at a party involving teens. Neighbors say deputies have been called out to the area several times for parties involving drugs and alcohol, according to WPEC-Ch. 12.
“We are in the early stages of this death investigation, sheriff’s spokeswoman Teri Barbera said. “Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and Crime Scene Investigators on our scene investigating further.”
