Perched atop breathtaking Sicilian cliffs, San Domenico Palace served as the dramatic setting for the second season of HBO’s critically acclaimed series The White Lotus. Fans of the hit black comedy TV show would immediately recognise the hotel’s cliffside swimming pool and opulent interiors.

According to their website, the luxe hotel is currently closed in preparation for the upcoming tourist season and set to reopen for guests from March 2023.

Besides the incredibly inviting accommodation, this Four Seasons hotel offers its guests several dining options, including signature Michelin-starred fine dining as well as the quintessentially Mediterranean outdoor terrace where the show’s cast of eclectic characters were often seen.

For its debut season, The White Lotus showcased the idyllic tropical shores along the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea. Per Conde Nast Traveller, to film the show, production took over the Hawaiian resort during Covid-19 lockdown.

Boasting a range of attractive accommodation options, the island getaway additionally offers three golf courses, three saltwater pools and private beachside cabanas.

In season 2 of Emily in Paris, the titular character of the popular Netflix series travels to the French Riviera where she enjoys a sojourn in the historic Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat.

Per House and Beautiful, the grandiose hotel, which has been part of the Four Seasons portfolio since 2015, has a rich history dating back to the 1800s when Belgium’s king bought the land on which the hotel stands.

The impressive lodgings currently offer 74 rooms, including a 5,500 sq ft presidential suite, as well as Michelin-starred eatery Le Cap Gastronomic.

Further highlights include the Gustave Eiffel-designed rotunda and the iconic poolside Club Dauphin, which exquisitely hugs the Mediterranean coastline.

4. Soma from Nine Perfect Strangers in Byron Bay, Australia

An ensemble cast including Hollywood A-listers Nicole Kidman and Melissa McCarthy star in the compelling TV series Nine Perfect Strangers. Based on the novel of the same name, the show takes place at a fictional upscale wellness centre called Tranquillum House.

But Tranquillum House is in fact the Australian spa Soma, near Byron Bay in New South Wales. Audiences will recall the spa’s pristine rainforest setting as well as an inspiring dome where many of the show’s dramatic scenes take place.
