A Fort Lauderdale personal injury law firm likes its partners to be presidents.

In that spirit, Krupnick Campbell Malone Roselli Buser Slama & Hancock said Monday it is establishing an “of counsel” relationship with Weaver & Weaver of Fort Lauderdale.

Partner Dianne Jay Weaver is on the American Trial Lawyers Association’s executive committee, the traditional line to become president of the national organization. Her husband and firm partner, Ben J. Weaver, is president of the Florida chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.

Krupnick Campbell has 16 lawyers, among them many presidents and incoming-presidents:

— Partner Richard Roselli is president-elect of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers.

— Partner Tom Buser is president of the Broward County Lawyers Association.

— Partner Walter “Skip” Campbell is president-elect of the Broward County Bar Association. (Campbell is a candidate for the state Senate seat now held by Pete Weinstein, D.-Coral Springs.)

— Partner Lisa McNelis is president of the Broward County Bar Association.

“They’re givers as well as receivers,” said Larry Stewart, a Miami lawyer who is immediate past president of the American Trial Lawyers Association. “It’s a matter of putting something back into the profession. You pay an economic price for doing it. It takes time. It says something positive about a law firm that is willing to allow its lawyers to make those commitments.”

The two law firms will remain separate entities but will work closely together, Campbell said. Ben Weaver is an experienced property lawyer, which will bring an added dimension to the firm, Campbell said.

Krupnick Campbell’s largest revenue-producing cases in recent years were farmers’ suits against DuPont for crop damages relating to Benlate fungicide.
