She started her career as a journalist in 1986. Jean rose from being an editorial assistant to the assistant editor.
In 1989, Chatzky left the journalism field and joined the equity research department of Dean Witter Reynolds. Two years later, Jean returned to journalism but is now at Forbes as a reporter/researcher.
