James William Obituary, Death Cause – This is a post written from a place of great sadness. Jimbo, my husband of 33 years and my dearest friend, has passed away and is now at rest with the Heavenly Father. He was my loving soulmate. My spouse, who went by the nickname “Jimbo,” was an incredible parent and husband. He was a man who exuded a great deal of affection to all around him. The very unique love that he possessed and brought into this family will never be forgotten because of the impact he had on everyone.

My heart will always have a special place for the time we spent together traveling and supporting our boys at their many sporting activities, watching them mature while doing so, going on walks with our dogs, fishing, hunting, or even simply sitting on the sofa and watching TV. He had a remarkable capacity to be able to light up a room with that enormous Jimbo smile and laugh, and that quality will live on in people’s memories of him forever.

His three boys, Jake, Jordan, and Josh, and all of the remarkable things they have accomplished in life are the source of his greatest pride and delight. Throughout the years, he had great joy in witnessing the maturation of his sons into young men, which provided him with memories that would last a lifetime. I have no doubt that the boys will vouch for the fact that their father helped shape them into the men they are today.
Jimbo, you are in my heart forever, and I will miss you more than anyone else. I hope to see you again soon.  There will be no memorial ceremony held at this time in order to give our family time to cope with the tremendous loss we have suffered. A “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later time according to the arrangements of the Funk family. Because it is common knowledge that football was Jimbo’s lifelong obsession, the Funk family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the DSA Cougars Football program in the name of Jim “Jimbo” Funk.
