Niantic Labs is holding a two-day Community Day event for the first time ever. So, what better Pokemon to feature than Eevee?

Eevee has been a part of Pokemon GO since its base launch in 2016. Also known as the "Evolution" Pokemon, trainers new and old know this little creature has immense potential. It can currently evolve into eight different types—now all available in Pokemon GO.

Below, we've detailed how to evolve Eevee into one of its first evolutions: Flareon!

Get excited, Trainers! #PokemonGOFest2021 may be over, but the celebrations continue straight into August! Look forward to all the Ultra Unlock bonuses you’ve earned, along with other fun events coming your way!

How to Get Flareon in Pokemon GO

Across the board, evolving an Eevee will cost 25 candies.

Trainers can use a special nickname to guarantee their Eevee will evolve into a Flareon. Keep in mind, however, this trick will only work once—so they should make sure they're using it on the correct Eevee.

To evolve Eevee into Flareon using the nickname trick, simply name the desired Eevee "Pyro" and hit the evolve button. Barring any significant glitches and prior use, that selected Eevee will become a Flareon.

Otherwise, the process is entirely random and can result in Eevee turning into any of the three original Kanto Eevee-lutions—the other two being Jolteon and Vaporeon. Trading is also an option for those who desperately need to get Flareon on their team or in their PokeDex.

Flareon has the following stats:

  • Maximum CP: 3424
  • Maximum HP: 149
  • Attack: 246
  • Defense: 179
  • Stamina: 163

Its best moveset includes the quick move "Fire Spin" and either the charged move "Flamethrower" or "Overheat."

Flareon is known as the "Flame" Pokemon. Its fluffy fur releases heat into the air so its body doesn't overheat. Without this, it would likely overheat almost instantly, as its body can reach temperatures of 1,650 °F (~900 °C). Its PokeDex number is 136.
