Among Us Desync: How to Decrease Lag In-Game
Firstly, it is important to note that server errors have come as a result of servers reaching capacity in the past. If you are unable to join a match due to a server error, the first step is to ensure you are on the same region as your party by selecting the proper region at the bottom right of your screen. If everyone is on the same region and errors are still occurring, try moving the game to a new region or utilizing a new host.
For players experiencing general connectivity and desync issues, attempt one of the following fixes.
- Close other programs
- Set game priority to high
- Verify the integrity of game files
Excess programs can lead to reduced in-game performance. Ensure that no program is hindering performance by checking program usage in the task manager and closing excess programs. Additionally, try setting Among Us priority to high by opening task manager while the game is running and navigating to the details tab in the top right. Right click on Among Us and set the priority to high. Priority is set to normal by default and changing it to high allows for better performance.
Lastly, if none of these fixes work right click on Among Us in steam and click properties to verify the integrity of your game files. This will ensure there are no invalid or corrupt files which can lead to reduced performance.
