Whether you're an experienced veteran, a brand new player, or someone coming back to the game after a little time off, you may be noticing a slight increase in the amount of your Victory Royales since the release of Fortnite: Chapter 2.

While many people at first attributed this to the game getting easier, or more low-skilled players entering the game, it turns out that every player's first few matches in chapter two are filled with bots. This was a very intentional move by the developers over at Epic Games as an incentive for returning players to keep playing the game during Chapter 2. If you keep winning, odds are you're probably going to want to keep playing.

While this seemed like an effective strategy in the beginning, players began to quickly see through the smoke and mirrors that Epic Games had set up, as further observation of these bots makes it obvious that they are obviously not players, as they are constantly making unnatural decisions and walking into easy opportunities to get eliminated.

Although the amount of bots in games decreases the more a players plays Chapter 2, you should expect around half of the players in a match to be bots. However, there are ways to manipulate matchmaking to play in a match entirely populated by other bots.
