Blackjack fans are getting their wish.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is going to offer $5 blackjack 24/7, casino officials say. The guarantee kicked in at midnight Thursday.
When the casino began offering blackjack back in June 2008, most of the tables had a $25 minimum. Hard Rock officials said that’s what demand dictated; if the casino had $5 tables, nobody would leave.
A year later, the Hard Rock began promising $10 min tables 24/7, although they had offered them at scattered times before that. Then came blackjack last August at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, at Seminole Hollywood Classic (which has $5 tables) and virtual blackjack at the pari-mutuels.
Which puts us where we are now… The economy’s tanking, the shiny factor of blackjack is kind of wearing off and, well, if demand dictated $25 tables at the start, this kind of says something about demand. Or maybe it’s just the natural maturation of a casino.
