Joan Joyce is a 66-year-old Florida Atlantic softball and women's golf coach. The softball team just won its 10th regular season conference title in the 13 seasons Joyce has been coach, and she was named Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year. Joyce's coaching success is not surprising when one hears what she did as an athlete, playing in four sports (softball, basketball, volleyball and golf) at very high levels, including a stint on the LPGA Tour as well as many fast pitch softball national championships. She is in seven different Halls of Fame and one of the highlights of her career was striking out Ted Williams in 1961 when she was 20 years old. this is a copy photo of Joyce from 1979.
