The next in the conga line of Marlins pitchers beached himself at Land Shark Stadium on Thursday, and this time it is a skinny guy named Tim Wood.

Wood was a 44th round draft pick who has had the two big surgeries, Tommy John and labrum, so that is behind him.

Not a great pedigree, right? Bouncing around the minors since 2003 squeezing in a couple major surgeries along the way.

But he could be a late bloomer, since he was having a pretty decent season at AAA (1-0, 0.54 ERA, 14 appearances, 16.2 innings pitched, 1 earned run, 7 walks, 17 strike outs.)

He is a sinker/slider guy who can throw in the low 90s.

Hopefully Wood will not be like some of the pitchers who have been brought up and been beaten up and sent down or packing.

We’ll probably find out soon enough.
