Jazz singer to perform tonight at beach theater

Singer/songwriter Robin Avery will perform from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hollywood Beach Theater on Johnson Street and the Broadwalk.

Avery is a jazz singer and is getting ready to release her second CD in October.

The concert is sponsored by the Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts.

Farmer’s market slated at mall next 2 weekends

A farmer’s market featuring fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables and gourmet foods will be held Saturday and Sunday and Sept. 28 and 29 at the Aventura Mall, 19501 Biscayne Blvd.

Items will include tulips from Holland, gourmet oils and vinegars, fresh honey and orchids in the Burdines-Bloomingdale’s court.

Vendors will be selling their wares during regular mall hours, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami.
