Dwanh Morris Obituary, Death Cause – Mark Lane Gordon, 63 years old, lost his heroic struggle with cancer on July 6, 2023. He died away in the presence of his family at his sister’s house in Texas, where he had been staying since the day before. Mark’s birthday is September 6th and he was born in Morris, Illinois. It was his father, Ernest A. Gordon, and his mother, Mary N. (Poland) Gordon, who gave birth to him. He was born in Morris, raised there, and received his education there as well.

He graduated from Morris High School in 1977. Soon after graduating, he uprooted his life and began a new one in Colorado, where he found work in the building, roofing, and commercial painting industries. Mark has spent the last twenty years honing his skills in the lumber industry at the Valley Lumber Company in Rifle, Colorado. Mark was a huge fan of rock music, and one of his all-time favorite bands was Lynyrd Skynyrd. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing pool with his pals, watching old westerns and movies, and was passionate about classic automobiles.

Mark looked forward to seeing his loved ones whenever he could, so he made it a point to visit his hometown at least once per year. He was quite funny and could tell a fantastic story. He had a beautiful sense of humor. As a loving father, son, and brother, as well as the “cool” uncle, he will be remembered forever. He will be sorely missed in every possible way. Mark was devoted and conscientious, and he would go to any lengths to help you. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mark’s “work family” at Valley Lumber in Rifle, Colorado for all of the love, care, and support they gave him while he fought against this awful disease.
