Radio personality Jill Tracey has landed on her feet.
Fired from Hot 105 last month after being charged with shoplifting at a Neiman-Marcus store in Sawgrass Mills mall, Tracey has been hired by Miami-Dade County’s premier black station, WEDR-99JAMZ, based in Carol City.
Among young listeners, WEDR is the No. 1 station while Hot 105 is third, according to Arbitron ratings.
Tracey, 33, a popular South Florida DJ, will join another 99Jamz’s Terry Alexander during afternoon drive time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. She will also have a new gossip feature called “What’s Happening.”
Tracey was let go by Hot 105 following her arrest for stuffing more than $300 worth of expensive shoes and handbag into a shopping bag, a police report says. She was arrested, held overnight and released on a pretrial release program.
