A woman is dead after a Brightline train crashed into her car in Pompano Beach Tuesday night, deputies say.
About 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call about a crash with a Brightline train near Atlantic Boulevard and Dixie Highway, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said in a media release.
Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded. Deputies found the woman, who was the driver of the car, already dead.
The release did not identify the woman or say how she ended up on the tracks.
BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the crash. Spokespeople for Brightline did not respond to questions Wednesday afternoon.
