Anticipating an influx of city dwellers and others looking for a hot body, Marina Perrone has already brought her Core Evolution workout studio to downtown Boca.
With the Hyatt Place going up across the street, look for her glass-enclosed studio at 9 Plaza Real S on the ground floor of The Mark at Cityscape. There’s parking in the building, Perrone said.
This is her second location for a studio, since Palm Beach Gardens had a south county following, said Perrone, 26. “I decided to open in Boca Raton last April. We had so many people coming up and the demand was there. We were getting calls every day.”
Perrone plans to open a third Core Evolution in Woods Walk on U.S. Highway 441 and Lake Worth Road to serve those western communities and Wellington next month with a co-owner, she said.
The equipment is called a Megaformer, and the inventor of both the machine and the low-impact workout Sebastien Lagree is coming into Boca Raton on May 7 for 40-minute training sessions at 10 and 11 a.m. and noon for a registration fee of $60 for newcomers, $50 for unlimited membership client at or call 561-345-4446.
Regular pricing includes specials for a first class and new clients.
Her mother Michelle Perrone introduced her daughter to the Lagree training in her hometown of Sarasota, she said at the Boca studio recently.
“A year into it, I was feeling burned out at a 9-to-5 desk job with a commute,” Marina Perrone said. “I started to think about changing my life and to share my passion for Lagree and I contacted him.”
He started as a celebrity fitness trainer in Hollywood and has a patent on the machine and the workout, she said.
The 1,400-foot Boca studio has 41 classes so far and 12 machines, which are 11 feet long with stabilizer and exercise poles, “and we can tailor them [the machines] for the beginner or seasoned athlete,” she said. “You’re all over this machine and will have a full body workout.
“We have people of all ages and this helps you stay moving and active,” Perrone said.
The Boca studio also sells activewear, including grip socks, and a boutique jewelry line.
