Former Arizona safety Isaiah Taylor, the son of NFL Hall of Famer and Miami Hurricanes defensive line coach Jason Taylor, is transferring to UM.

The younger Taylor, who starred at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, announced his decision on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday.

The three-star prospect signed with Arizona in 2021 and had 56 tackles, one interception and three pass breakups in 24 games during three seasons at Arizona. His lone interception came in 2022 against rival Arizona State.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Taylor, who played mostly as a backup last season, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He started three games in his Wildcats career.

Miami needed to add depth at safety after Kamren Kinchens and James Williams entered the NFL draft.

Jason Taylor, who played 13 of his 15 NFL seasons for the Miami Dolphins, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017. He retired following the 2011 NFL season after playing 233 games at defensive end and outside linebacker.
