Never fear, Crypto fans. The developers are still working on a host of changes for the legend post-Season 10 patch drop.

In fact, this information comes directly from a post about said season's patch notes. Jason McCord, Design Director for Apex Legends at Respawn Entertainment, shared the notes on his Twitter profile about an hour after they dropped noting that there was "a lot of stuff to like" in the update. However, anyone who took a look at the notes, knows that there were a few popular Season 10 predictions missing.

Namely, the proposed rework of recon-legend, Crypto.

We are trying some stuff internally. Not ready yet.

Crypto Changes "Not Ready Yet" Says McCord

Fans of the legend quickly took notice of his absence on the lengthy list of changes for Emergence. One Twitter user, @ray_ray882, took the initiative to reply to McCord and ask what the deal was. After all, several outlets have been reporting on rumors and speculation that Crypto's kit was back on the drawing board.

"What about some changes for Crypto? :)" The user asked under McCord's post on the patch notes.

McCord responded a minute later, writing, "We are trying some stuff internally. Not ready yet."

The anticipation around Crypto comes from a statement by a member of the development team in late July. Previously, during an appearance on the Apex Uncut podcast, Associate Live Balance Designer John Larson indicated that the development team had their eye on Crypto for a large rework. He noted that the legend tended to be niche and possibly too "cerebral" for a straightforward gun game like Apex Legends.

Larson said that he thought "streamlining the flow between Crypto-mode and Drone-mode—and maybe distributing that power in a more healthy way so it's not quite as binary" would be the best way to approach tweaking the legend. Unfortunately, it appears that fans will have to wait a bit longer to see if Larson's ideas will make it to the live game.
