Bob Uecker is a retired Major League Baseball (MLB) player from the United States. He is currently a sportscaster, comedian, and actor. Johnny Carson, a TV chat show host, dubbed Bob “Mr. Baseball.”
Since 1971, he has worked as a play-by-play announcer for Milwaukee Brewers radio broadcasts. In addition, the National Baseball Hall of Fame presented Bob with the 2003 Ford C. Frick Award in celebration of his broadcasting career.
From 1962 to 1967, he played catcher for three different National League teams: the Braves, Cardinals, and Phillies. Before obtaining his first movie part, he penned a funny autobiography called “Catcher in the Wry” and appeared in a popular series of Light beer commercials.

On May 15, 2001, the couple filed for divorce.
Leann, Bob’s eldest child, was born in 1957 and died of ALS in March 2022. Leann married Robert Ziemer, with whom she had a daughter named Kelsey. She relocated to Wisconsin with her daughter in 1999 and began constructing their life as a single mother in Cedarburg. Leann was a special education teacher at Cedarburg High School.

Before joining the Braves again, he also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1967, his six-year Major League career came to an end.
He was awarded Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year five times by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2011. His self-deprecating and funny speech was a highlight of the occasion. In addition, Bob’s participation in WrestleMania III and WrestleMania IV earned him induction into the Celebrity Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010.
Beginning in the 1980s, he starred in several hilarious advertisements, most notably for Miller Lite beer as one of the “Miller Lite All-Stars.” He became much better known after he quit playing because he was known for his sense of humor, notably his lackluster playing career. He appeared on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show over 100 times. Johnny dubbed him Mr. Baseball.
