Lucy Lopez deftly comes off as a Miami girl’s girl, dishing about her two daughters, her husband, where she shops and the latest in South Florida pop culture. The Hialeah native does this weekdays with her tell-it-like-it-is Spanglish and Cubanita flair from 6 to 10 a.m. on Power 96.5 FM’s morning show, which she co-hosts with JP, short for Yojhans Perez.

“No matter what the city is going through whether it’s a really good time, or a really bad time like a hurricane or God forbid something happens at a school, people automatically tune into us because they can trust us,’’ Lopez told the Sun Sentinel this summer. “They know that behind the jokes and whatever we do in the morning, they know they can trust what we’re going to say.”
