Kaplan is an American news Journalist currently working as an anchor for WCTV News, Since September 2016. He airs at 4, 5:30, 6, and 11 pm from Monday – Friday newscasts. Before coming to WCTV News, he was a news anchor and Sports Director at KFBB, the ABC/FOX affiliate in Great Falls, Montana.
During his time in the Treasure State, Ben covered everything from election season to National Police Week in Washington D.C. after a local sheriff’s deputy was killed in the line of duty. Before working for Great Falls, he spent five years at KXLY, the ABC station in Spokane, Washington where he was nominated for a Regional Emmy for his series on individuals using sports to overcome personal and physical obstacles.
He has also worked for WWSB in Sarasota, Florida where his family has lived since 2000, and this is one of the reasons he’s excited to make his return to Florida. In his free time, he has been involved with several fundraising efforts for organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters and was even a ‘Big’ while in Spokane. He’s excited to get involved as soon as he can in the Big Bend Area.
