Grantis Bell, who spent five seasons as the Coconut Creek football coach, has resigned.

Bell, who was 19-30 at Creek, said he wanted to concentrate on his new family and on getting his master’s degree in guidance. He will remain at the school as a guidance counselor and track coach.

Bell had one winning season, that coming in 1998 with a 7-3 record. The Cougars made the Class 6A playoffs that year, losing to Deerfield Beach 21-12 in the first round of the regionals.

Coconut Creek Athletic Director Eddie Rokas said he is accepting applications to replace Bell. All applications can be sent to the school.
