Astral Chain online co-op is a leading desire among players enjoying the game on Nintendo Switch, regardless of the quality of Nintendo's online capabilities. Is it possible to play Astral Chain as an online co-op game?

Playing Astral Chain's co-op mode with @Hot_Scramble_ was either the best or the worst thing I've had to endure through.

Astral Chain Online Co Op: Is There Online Co-Op?

Astral Chain developer PlatinumGames made little effort to publicize its foray into multiplayer, as the feature was originally set to be left as an Easter egg for players who removed both Joy-Cons from the Switch.

Then Kotaku asked game director Takahisa Taura about the potential for co-op at E3 2019. His response revealed the possibility for players to play local co-op, and the cat was out of the bag. Now players know co-op can also be triggered through the options menu, removing much of the mystery of the feature while making it more accessible.

Unfortunately for players without nearby friends, co-op doesn't appear playable online.
