Broward County commissioners will talk today about the dearth of eating and drinking options for travelers in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport, or in airport parlance, FLL. They’ll also talk about trying massage chairs out at the airport.

Though the airport website claims that “a fine selection of gift shops, restaurants and newsstands awaits passengers within the terminals and concourses of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport,” county commissioners say the food fare is poor, and a recent customer survey found the airport got average ratings in that area.

In Terminal 1, before you pass through security: the Corona Sand Bar. After security, for ticketed passengers only: Dunkin’ Donuts Express, Casa de Fresco, Pasha’s, Pizza Uno, Chef Allen’s 2 Go, Chili’s To Go, Chili’s Too, and Spinaci’s Fine Food.

Terminal 2: Tropical Treats, Cruzan Estate Bar and Lounge, Casa de Fresco, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Chef Allen’s 2 Go, are all on the pre-security level. For ticketed passengers only: Casa de Fresco, Miami Subs Plus, La Cucina Pizza, Cruzan Estate Bar and Lounge, and Dunkin’ Donuts Express.

Terminal 3: More Chili’s choices, including a Chili’s Too Margarita Bar, Edy’s ice cream, are pre-security. Post-security are: Key West Bar & Deli, Americo’s Pizzeria, Chef Allen’s 2Go, Dunkin’ Donuts Express, Cruzan Bar, Corky’s Ribs and BBQ, and just opened is Sushi Maki. Freshens will open in this terminal soon, replacing Edy’s ice cream.

Terminal 4: Pre-security options are Sbarro Italian Eatery, Casa de Fresco, Edy”s ice cream and Dunkin’ Donuts. After the security checkpoint: Boat House Too Dockside Bar, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, Dunkin’ Donuts and Chef Allen’s 2 Go.

One problem, commissioners complain, is that the restaurants or coffee shops are not open long enough.
